Protective Order Notification (VPO)

  1. VINE Protective Order (VPO) is a free and confidential service that allows petitioners to register for notification when a protective order of any type has been served by law enforcement. VPO also provides a 90-day advance notice when the protective order is about to expire. With the passage of SHB 1501 in the 2017 Legislative Session, notifications on denied firearms transfers/purchases by respondents in active protection orders are also generated automatically.
  2.
Petitioners may register on-line at www.registervpo.com or call 1-877-242-4055. Operators are available 24 hours a day to help folks register, answer questions, and provide information about local advocate services that offer resources and support.

Please do not depend solely on VINE Protective Order notifications for safety. If there are any concerns about safety or questions about a protective order, call the Washington State Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-562-6025. For Sexual Assault orders contact the Office of Crime Victim Advocacy at 1-800-822-1067. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.
