Police Chief Selection Process

The WASPC Police Chief Selection Process is designed to assist agencies who need to identify and select a police department chief executive officer and member of the city's leadership team. Dimensions of the service include: identification of ideal candidate traits and characteristics; advertisement and recruitment; review of applicants; identification of finalists; interview of finalists; coordination of a forum to meet the candidates; and a final interview of the candidates with the city manager and/or mayor.

The program does not cover background investigations, polygraph/psychological evaluations, or criminal history checks.
