Washington State False Alarm Reduction Effort

The Washington Burglar and Fire Alarm Association and the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association have joined with Washington Law Enforcement in a concentrated effort to reduce false alarms in this State. Washington was one of four states involved in the successful Model States Program during 1998, involving 57 agencies throughout the country. John Wurner, who is now taking the lessons learned from the Model States effort to police agencies in all 50 states, is available to assist local agencies in their efforts.

You can call for these services:

  • Copy of the Model States final report.
  • Complete software package for false alarm tracking. (no cost to law enforcement agencies)
  • Alarm industry contacts to support any changes that are included in the model alarm ordinance, when appearing before your legislative body.
  • Copy of the Model Alarm Ordinance. (this ordinance was created with full support of law enforcement and the national burglar and fire alarm association)
